Gettin' Down in Chi-Town
The Hair Down ThereDear Lucy,Hi, this is awkward but what’s your advise on shaving down there? Razor? wax? Brazilian? Landing strip? And do the guys care? Your opinion would be appreciated thanks.P.S. Thanks for being so open about sexDear Lucy, Hi, this is my first time looking at your Tumblr and I have a question that I’ve never had the courage to ask anyone. First of all, I’m a guy. I do think this changes things for my question. My question is about shaving. For some reason, I am terrified of shaving my genital region. I’m a pretty hairy dude, and I’m wondering is this a deal breaker that I don’t shave? Also, is there anyway that you know of to get over this fear?I kind of love that I got this question from a guy and a girl in the same week, and I’ll do my best to answer both of you. There’s no right or wrong reason for shaving your genital region. This is entirely a matter of preference: what you like, and what your partner likes. The most important thing is to make things comfortable for both of you, physically and mentally. It’s totally OK to tell your partner what excites you, or what you prefer in terms of her or his pube grooming. It is not OK to pressure your partner, or to get pressured, into something that makes anyone uncomfortable. Ladyfriend: Oh dear, what is my advice for shaving down there? Well, I’ve shaved, but never waxed, so unfortunately I won’t be able to educate you on the pleasures of having hot goo spread onto your most private place by a stranger, and then having your short ‘n’ curlies ripped out by the roots. Shaving, though, I’ve done. For a while I shaved very regularly. Sometimes I just did the bikini line, and sometimes I did everything, or just left a landing strip. The major pro to having no pubic hair is sensitivity. All this skin that is normally protected is now exposed to the elements, and it happens to be around the area of your body that is most sensitive. Being touched feels pretty great when you’re bare down there. Oral is fantastic as well. Then there’s the look of things when you’re shaved. I go back and forth between thinking it’s sexy, and thinking that it makes a full-grown woman look like a little girl, and maybe that’s weird. That’s gotta be something you and your lover decide. For me, I don’t think shaving is worth the cons. First of all, the hair doesn’t stay gone for too long. Pube stubble is not pleasant for your partner’s face, and it doesn’t look too good either. And then you get little red bumps around there, and it’s terribly itchy. Makes you think that perhaps you have this hair for a reason… Aloe can sooth the area, or Bikini Zone cream. When I was shaving super regularly, the irritation reduced, but so did the sensitivity. My female roommates say that waxing is the way to go for regular pubic hair removal. They explain that yes, it hurts a lot. And it’s an expensive venture. But the hair stays away for longer, and so do the red bumps. You do, however, have to let the hair grow out in order to get waxed again… a vicious cycle.Manfriend: As for you, what do I think about dudes shaving? Well, guys can be pretty hairy in their pubic regions. Sometimes so hairy that oral sex is a daunting exercise. I’ve never been too bothered by guys letting their pubes grow out. I’ve only experienced sexy-time with one guy who shaved entirely, and I thought that was a little weird. Then again, he also never slept with pants on. Or underwear. Even if he was crashing on a friend’s couch.  So he was kinda weird in general.OK, then there’s the balls. I’d say go with the rule that if you want your lover to suck on your balls, then keep them groomed. A blow job can be accomplished without pubes getting into your mouth, but not so much if you want some testicle action to go with it. Then there’s your fear of shaving. I assume you’re more concerned about your sack then the pubes around your shaft. If you’re worried about nicking the skin with a razor, try using an electric razor that can’t cut you. Or, invite a trusty partner to help you get the job done. She/he will be able to get down close to your sensitive areas to see what they’re doing better than you can.Xoxo,Lucy

The Hair Down There

Dear Lucy,
Hi, this is awkward but what’s your advise on shaving down there? Razor? wax? Brazilian? Landing strip? And do the guys care?
Your opinion would be appreciated thanks.
P.S. Thanks for being so open about sex

Dear Lucy,
Hi, this is my first time looking at your Tumblr and I have a question that I’ve never had the courage to ask anyone. First of all, I’m a guy. I do think this changes things for my question. My question is about shaving. For some reason, I am terrified of shaving my genital region. I’m a pretty hairy dude, and I’m wondering is this a deal breaker that I don’t shave? Also, is there anyway that you know of to get over this fear?

I kind of love that I got this question from a guy and a girl in the same week, and I’ll do my best to answer both of you.

You do, however, have to let the hair grow out in order to get waxed again… a vicious cycle.

Manfriend: As for you, what do I think about dudes shaving? Well, guys can be pretty hairy in their pubic regions. Sometimes so hairy that oral sex is a daunting exercise. I’ve never been too bothered by guys letting their pubes grow out. I’ve only experienced sexy-time with one guy who shaved entirely, and I thought that was a little weird. Then again, he also never slept with pants on. Or underwear. Even if he was crashing on a friend’s couch.  So he was kinda weird in general.

Xoxo,
